Chika Toure is Nurse Practitioner and a primary care provider (PCP) in Natick MA. She earned her Master’s of Nursing in Family Nurse Practitioner at Regis College in Weston. Prior to that she was a nurse for over 18yrs. Chika decided to become a nurse practitioner while caring for
multitude of patients as nurse for many years and began to wonder how else she can impact her patients lives in even greater ways. She realized that she can help improve patient health and well being by as a PCP.
Her goal is to help patients do what they can to prevent diseases before their occur. And where disease do exit, she want to help patients live their best quality of life in spite of the disease. As a primary care nurse practitioner, Chika’s core believe is that it is never too late to start taking preventative measures to protect one’s health and quality of life. Thus, her aim in primary care is to work with patients to identify health risk factors and evaluate social determinants of health that may influence a patient’s health and wellness.

A nurse practitioner is nurse with an advance degree that by law allow him/her to practice autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals. An NP can provide primary care and medical care to patient in and outside of the hospital and other care areas.
A national board certification is required after (completion) education for the advanced degree in order to practice as a NP. Nurse practitioner can manage patient care by assessing, diagnosing, treating which include prescribing medications, and as well as making referral to other specialty when appropriate.
